The famous HydraFacial treatment is an effective and gentle procedure that combines a variety of skin rejuvenation methods to give you a more radiant and healthy appearance. It combines exfoliating, cleansing, extraction, and hydration all in one procedure. The HydraFacial is a medical-grade treatment that clears your pores while it hydrates your skin. It is offered by licensed and trained specialists.
There are some things that you need to know before you have a HydraFacial treatment. Primarily, there are some things that you should not do before receiving the treatment.
1. Do not tan or use a self-tanner before the treatment
2. Avoid aggressive face masks or scuba
3. Do not get any injectable fillers beforehand
4. If you are using a prescription-strength Retin-A, stop
There are some other things that you will need to talk to a specialist about before getting a HydraFacial. Specific medications can interfere with the procedure as can laser treatments. Take the time to talk to a specialist so that you can properly prepare.
Before your HydraFacial treatment begins you will need to cleanse your skin of any makeup, dirt, or moisturizer that you may have used.
In the first part of the treatment, the skin will be cleansed and prepped for the rest of the procedure. Your skin will be exfoliated, removing dead skin cells and impurities.
After the exfoliation, a fruit acid peel is applied and gently removed. This peel helps reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It can also clear up some hyperpigmentation.
The extraction phase follows. This is a wonderful part of the procedure who have small bumps or breakouts hiding underneath the skin. An extractor, like a mini vacuum, will gently extract impurities that can cause breakouts.
The last phase is the application of a nutritive serum to protect and hydrate your new skin that has been released from the HydraFacial treatment.
The recovery time after a HydraFacial treatment varies from person to person. It is usually safe to go back to your normal activities in a few days. In most people, it will take less than ten days for the skin to return to a normal appearance. Any peeling or redness from the treatment should be gone within a few days.
One of the reasons that HydraFacial is so popular all around the world is the fact that it works on almost all skin types on people of all ages. There are a few exceptions. The treatment works well for teens who are dealing with acne issues and adults with hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and sun damage.
Immediately after the HydraFacial, you should avoid washing your face for at least four hours. This will allow the serums and other products that have been applied to fully penetrate your skin.
Avoid excessive UV light exposure. If you need to go into the sunlight wear a strong sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 for five days after the treatment. Your new skin will be very sensitive to strong sunlight.
Wash your face the next morning with a gentle cleanser. Stronger cleaners can damage your skin.
Use hydrating products every day, morning, and evening for up to 30 days. This will help you keep the glow that you got from HydraFacial.
Discontinue using prescription Retin-A or generic tretinoin for at least two days following the treatment.
There may be other aftercare instructions that you can discuss with your specialist if necessary.
